The lower realms

The lower realms, also known as the earthly realm, are where mortal species live. Most of their inhabitants know nothing of the other realms, living their lives peacefully. They are often cursed by the forces of the Abyss, trying to corrupt the peaceful life of its inhabitants. From this rise violence toward their own kin, despair, stress and many mental illnesses afflicting innocents. The Celestial realm, recently, with the leadership of the crown prince Ryuuma, has been making a huge effort to protect the inhabitants of the earthly realm, while in the past, it rarely got involved in their protection. The creation of the Obsidian Lotus Clan by Ryuuma and Shinnya has been working very hard to protect people and keep the harmony between both realms. In the Moonlight grove, a portal connects both the celestial realm and the earthen realm together to facilitate the transport of troops and students for the clan.

Moonlight Grove

Deep within the grove is a location a dear koi-dragon loves to enjoy the most. It is also where her own kin, the koi fish, live nearby and know they are safe in her presence. She is very protective of this area.

As the koi ventured out of the Moonlight Grove, she stumbled onto this area, finding other creatures she had never seen before as she was traveling stream to stream to achieve her goal of becoming a dragon. A beautiful area where she knows she can find friends and safety.

Obsidian Lotus Study Halls

To become a proper cultivator, one needs to discover and learn about many topics. From discipline, to spells or simply writing. Shinnya can often be seen here teaching students and cultists.

Beyond theory comes practice! From practicing martial arts, practicing Qi Gong and other techniques of qi control, students often meet here to practice their techniques. The place is usually pretty calm, where the hushed whisper of people can be heard.

Celestial Realm

The celestial realm has lived for several centuries in perfect bliss and ignorance of the realm below. Or so this was what the leaders of the realm wished for their fortunate inhabitants. Lavish, calm lives, governing above the two other realms without a care. One would think that living in a world without afflictions of the other realms would be perfect, but no realm is safe as the crown prince discovers how rotten the former leadership is. A realm of protectors who had turned into laziness and ignorance at the risk of harming others below. Before the crown prince rose to power, they used to see anyone below as disgusting and unworthy of their aid.

Shinnya's and Ryuuma Chambers

The bedroom of the crown prince and his consort. The koi-dragon can be found here occasionally as she relaxes and enjoys a warm tea. She may occasionally do divination in this room if she is in the mood. In the distance, you may occasionally catch a glimpse of the crown prince flying in the sky.

The Blessed City

The blessed city is connected next to the great palace where Ryuuma and Shinnya reside. It is often a location of celebration and joy for the inhabitants of the city.

The Abyssial Realm

Unlike the two other realms, this one is far more complex and dark. A world so dark at times or deceptively bright with betrayal at every corner. From despair, sadness, stress and more, the people of this place suffer and struggle. Their inhabitants are not bad, but their leaders are making it very hard for their inhabitants to thrive in this world. Due to its harshness, many try to escape from there into the Earthly Realm, who then fall victim to the same ailment. The crown prince of the celestial realm and the clan leader of the Obsidiant Lotus are doing their best to help people living in the Abyssial Realm and trying to find a way to make a deal with their leader to balance the suffering and stability of all realms.

The Forbidden City

A singular home has been sealed by the Obsidian Lotus Clan to protect the passage between the realms. Depending on the area of the city, they can be extremely quiet and eerie or loud and terrifying. Yet people still find refuge in this city, trying to live the best of their lives. Hannya the fox spirit is one of those who live in this place and wishes this realm could be helped to become more balanced. He is a representative of the Abyssial Realm who joined Ryuuma and Shinnya.

Shinnya

❝ Whether something is right or wrong is for you to decide; to view it as defamation or honour is up to others, irrespective of what has been gained or lost. ❞

As an inhabitant of the Earthen Realm, Shinya was a charismatic and simple-minded koi. She was incredibly calm, selfless and would care deeply for her parents more than herself. Once permitted by her parents to realize her dreams, she wanted to realize the dream of becoming a dragon. Through a lot of hardships and struggles, she met new faces and allies, but her frail body started to deteriorate. Yet she kept pushing. She would be found unconscious in the water of the celestial realm by Ryuuma, who let her rest and float into the blessed pools of the Sacred lotus. She was healed of any ailment, but also finally grew into a dragon. Due to her low level of cultivation from her recent awakening, she can only be in the form of a small dragon.As a noble consort and cultivator, Shinnya is a very resourceful, compassionate, empathic and charismatic woman. This has gained her respect from foes and allies alike, often due to empathy and understanding. She would never admit it, but she is incredibly talented writing-wise. She is incredibly loyal to Ryuuma, who believed in her since the beginning, which allowed her to become his lover and also his scholar, advising him in other realms' politics. Within the Earthly Realm, she is incredibly protective of the Kois, knowing that, like her, they can grow into dragons and help others like she did.

Ryuuma

❝ When you are looking at someone, you cannot deem their qualities by only looking at what is right and wrong or black and white. What matters is what their heart believes in. ❞

Ryoma is a rather calm and relaxed dragon. It takes a lot to get him upset or annoyed. When he was young, he had always been very curious about the lower realm despite his family's disgust and hatred toward its inhabitants. He bonded with a small koi he met in the water, helping her to see her true potential as one of the rare species that can become a dragon. Due to his royal duties, he had never been able to help her cultivate this power within her to become what she was promised to, much to his own despair. He was incredibly attached to this young woman, promising himself that if he ever found her again that he would protect her no matter the cost, even willing to go against his family rules.Letting the woman become a dragon within the Sacred lotus pools had him in big trouble with his family, as he broke one of the important rules. Soon, he started seeing how rotten the current leadership was, focusing on their frugality rather than protecting the other realm. He, since then, started working with Shinnya and later Hannya of the Abyss. He would go to no limits to make Shinnya's cultivator's power to become equal to his, allowing them to govern in balance and aid those who deserve it. As a leading figure, he is very benevolent, strict, yet empathic and tactful, whereas Shinnya acts more on her actions and emotions. Like a yin-yang, he completes here where she can't be.

Hannyan

❝ We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. At best, you're the untamed hero; at worst, you offend people wherever you go. ❞

Hannyan is a deity fox tasked with protecting the portals between the three realms. His former appearance was of a fluffy white cat to make people less scared of him. For centuries, he had been trying to tell the celestial realm of the imbalance and the gradual invasion of the Abyssal realm into the Earthly realm, but was ignored as they only saw him as an adorable meowing creature. As Ryuuma started rising in power and Shinnya joined him, they realized the truth spoken by him. Assuming his true fox spirit form, he took away his cat disguise and revealed the truth. In alliance with her, they work closely to protect the realms and also to bring a certain amount of balance to the Abyssial realm. When not on duty, he loves eating or passing long moments sleeping and getting pat by the clan.

The dreaming koi

In a world where celestial beasts would govern the world, a small black and white koi fish was gazing at the sky, looking at the dragons flying above in the night sky, until a very small dragon dove into the water. The whelp, curious after his dive, noticed the small koi that was hiding behind a lilypad steam. As it tries to escape, the dragon gives chase, twirling around them and circling them until it catches the fish into his tail, curled up around the fish. “Please do not eat me!” spoke the frightened koi. Amused and surprised, the whelp simply licked the koi’s head, who was completely terrified. “Why would you think of such things?” asked the whelp who gazed down at the terrified fish. “The village said that we must stay away in the water so the others don’t eat us or take us away from here…” replied the young fish who still struggled into the whelp’s grip. The whelp finally released it, giving it one last lick as a tease.” Of course not. I have no reason to do this. I am just curious about what the world looks like from below the water. Would you like to show me around?” Asked the dragon. The koi hesitated but then nodded and led the whelp around in the water. Other fish and water creatures were terrified of the koi’s friend, yet the koi seemed to have fun swimming with the whelp. After a long adventure together, they discussed as they looked at the starry and moonlit sky. “Why did you want to explore these waters so badly?” Asked the koi, who was now relaxing over the coiled whelp’s tail. The whelp placed his head onto the koi’s head as he took a moment to think. “ I was told the water below was a world filled with unworthy creatures that are far below us. I wanted to see it with my own eyes and not listen to them,” replied the whelp.“Do you think they were right? Did it change your views after the time you spent with me exploring?” inquired the small koi. “The whelp looked at the koi with kindness. ”Definitely not. I find this place very intriguing. I do not understand why they say such things, especially when some of our kind are within these waters!” answered the whelp. The koi looked at him, surprised. “What do you mean? We haven’t seen any as we travelled earlier.” The whelp gave the koi another playful lick.”Oh, there is one, I just licked it,” he teased. Do you not know your kind can become a dragon? I have heard your kind have to sacrifice and endure a lot, but they can become one of us and be recognized as one. So I say you are a whelp too... in some ways.” The koi contemplated the words of the dragon, lost in thought. It looked at the sky, remembering how often it saw dragons soaring in the sky above, how often it wanted to fly as well.”I want to see the world above the water,” admitted the koi. Before it could do anything, the whelp grabbed onto the fish and flew out of the water into the sky. The koi was amazed by the beauty it was exposed to, but the sad reality came crashing down really badly as it started gasping for air. “Water….hurry…. up!!” gasped the koi, fearing to die. Panicked, the whelp quickly dove back into the water, watching over the fish until it was alright. “I am so sorry, I didn’t know you could die if you were out of the water. I have never seen a creation like you, unable to travel between both worlds,” explained the whelp. The koi smiled through its pain.” Don’t be sorry, you offered me to see something my kind would never have the chance to experience. Now you see why we are lesser beings.” The whelp held the koi’s face with its paws. “You are not lesser, I know one day you will be like me. You will soar through the sky at my side. Do not let anyone dictate your future because it is the norm.”A draconic roar could be heard in the distance, announcing to the whelp to return to its side. The whelp uncoiled itself and gave a friendly headpat to the fish before flying into the sky toward his kind.

Hiraeth's most dearing koi

Growing up, the koi was still obsessed with the sky, staring at it so often. The koi was quite caring toward his parents, being their only child. Hardworking, spoiling them, knowing that they were getting older more and more. Worried as they saw their body getting weaker due to sickness or aging. The koi still wanted dearly to realize their wish, but refused to leave them alone. One night, their parents came to the koi while it was stargazing. “You seem thoughtful. Is there something on your mind?” asked their mother. “I want to see the sky from above again. It was so beautiful… but I also want to become stronger to protect our water… These shadows of flesh have been endangering us lately,” she spoke quietly. “You saw the sky from above before? Your dreams are noble, you always had a sweet heart, dear. But the shadows are dangerous; this isn’t any small feat to face.” Shinya sighed softly. She knew she had no chance, even herself; she always had a weaker fin, struggling to swim at times, and she was dreaming of being able to push forward to save others while she could not save herself. “I once met a whelp, mother. He was different from the rumour people say about the higher one. He was kind and curious about us, wanting to know about us, as all he knew was that we were lesser than them. So I showed him around our water, and taught him a few things about us. He learned a lot, and his vision of us is very different. I feel he is still up there, waiting. He promised that we would see each other one day and fly together. When he lifted me into the sky, it was beautiful, amazing…but I couldn't breathe.”
Her father swam nearer to them, listening to them discussing. “ You let one of the celestials within our realm? He could have endangered you, Shinya. Not just you but all of us.” He chided her. As she was getting reprimanded and realizing her dreams were futile, she dove back down into the depths of the water. She knew her parents were mostly doing this out of care; they loved her dearly, and as their single surviving koi fry, they were worried and overprotected her. In the following months, her scales started changing colour, she ate less, and she enjoyed life less and less. She kept taking care of her parents, whom she loved dearly. One day, without noticing, her parents spoiled her a lot, surprising her. Not only that, but her father started helping her to learn how to go against strong water currents. One night, her parents spoke to her and let her know they supported her dream of seeing the sky again, only wanting the best for her. She kept training and finally was able to climb the first strong current. Due to their old age, they couldn’t join her, but she could hear them cheering in the distance. She promised them she would be back when she achieved her dream. This first challenge had motivated her, giving her purpose at last.Travelling these new waters also showed new civilisations and life she had never seen before. This brought new challenges to this already injured koi. But she kept going; she had a goal in mind. As she travelled, she met all kinds of creatures from the water and outside. When the times were hard with the new water fauna, the exterior one helped her to keep focus. Meeting foxes, wolves, cats, panthers and more species, each hearing her tale encouraged her to keep going. When she struggled going up each of the waterfalls leading to her destiny, these creatures would help her, from otters to push her upward in strong currents, to even a phoenix and a crow gripping her briefly to help her climb them as well. She gave a gaze downward, looking at all her progress. She was so close to her goal.Before her, there was a dark mist; going through it made her realize she couldn’t see anything. She swam back, holding her tears. Has she done all this for nothing? Her left fin hurt so badly… she did not progress, looking at the starry sky blankly. She let herself drift slowly in the water, almost wanting to give up. She noticed a small star moving in the sky, getting closer and closer. She initially ignores its presence, thinking it was just an illusion due to her pain. When the starry little being started poking at her a few times, she opened her eyes, noticing the bright little light leading her into the mist. She remained close to it, lighting up her way. The water was hard to navigate; it felt like nature itself wanted to stop her. But the little starry being kept waving itself as if it wanted to encourage her to keep pushing. Little did she know that through this mist she was becoming something else. Her body was growing bigger, and she seemed to be able to swim better. Was she still in the water? She was so lost in the darkness, was it not of this little star leading her somewhere? She felt her head getting stuck onto something, along with her body struggling to move more and more. She was exhausted, in pain and completely lost. Her eyes slowly closed, much to the worry of the star.The presence of the star had caught the attention of something else. A large serpentine dragon noticed the star and moved the mist, finding the koi dragon tangled in underground roots and tree vines. “This scent…I remember you!” Spoke the dragon as it quickly started to tear away the vines and roots, grabbing her form. Pulling her away, she reverted to her fish form, barely conscious. “You are one of the few who have dared since we last spoke…I can't let you end up like this…we will be reunited again, I will keep my word.” He took the form of a mortal, carefully grabbing the koi in his hands, teleporting to a sacred location where a magical lotus was growing, hidden. He carefully let the koi float into the healing water, letting it rest. He took form, coiling around the lotus and keeping the small koi safe in the healing water.

About Us

Hello, my name is Shinnya. I am a Canadian bigender person who love video games and crafting. I am quite very introverted despite my rare spurs of energy. I also have a slight speech impediment and my voice is generally very low and calm. My voice is also very androgynous but worry not, I accept both gender and won't get upset if you misgender me. I do have a preference to be referred as she/her.My first language is French, but I prefer speaking English. This give me a strange accent when I speak. I am still learning to speak better English. I hope you will like my stream! I am also a person who suffer of high anxiety and depression. This whole streaming plan is initially to help me overcome my "inner demons" that tell me I will never be successful at anything in my life. The other reason is that I really want to help my lover (who sacrificed a lot just so I could heal) and help to bring some money home as I am not functional in public job. This year, i have suffered of a very painfull knee injuries which prevent me even more job opportunity.After a whole year of constant improvement and learning about streaming and Vtubing, along with 1 whole year of streaming, I have seen amazing change in myself and I know this is the place I want to be. I have grown into someone I am actually proud to be and know my worth as a person. I am still dealing with the social anxiety but my head has never been this clearer in 20 years. I wish to become a content creator as well, a dream i have always had ever since i started watching popular YouTubers when i was younger.I have a deep passion for nature and esoteric/spiritual stuff. My vision:My vision is to make people more aware of what is true and what is wrong in a world where everything is so easily facified by AI or people. To help them find a way to feel safe in a uncertain future surrounding us. To remember our roots while the present is trying to erase them.

My mission:My mission is to offer a sanctuary for people struggling with many aspects of our reality. To be different from trends and influences, allowing them to take care of themselves in a healthy setting and not by following trends that endanger them. From the sponsors of natural products for consomation instead of chemicals drinks for example.

My why's?:I want to be different from other Vtubers, to not be in the same mold that most new ones seek to do. Being able to have seen so many generations of people, I have a different view than many. When the trends are loud and flashy, I prefer the quietness and the safety for my viewer. For example, while knowing I am a soft-voiced streamer, when the unskipable ads are coming, I play a soft bell chime and warn my viewers several times to lower their sound if they raised it to hear me to protect them and not to expose them to loud ads without warning. Along with making sure to pin a message warning them of triggers if the content iI play or watch is triggering. Their safety comes first.

My Audiance:Our target audience is mostly adults, gamers, fans of paranormal/esoterism, and people passionate about Traditional China and Wuxia. While the target audiance are adult, it is, however, safe to listen in public or in the presence of young ones. We keep topics generally safe for work and try to keep swearing to a minimal level.

Brand's Values:Through our brand, we want to teach balance and authenticity, along with empowerment and optimism. To give a sense of safety, enforcing creativity and learning about oneself.

My Brand's Voice:My brand voice is very simple to explain. I seek to spread empathy, caring and kindness through my brand. I give authenticity, approachability and try to offer down-to-earth values. My goals are to inspire and help people escape reality, giving people a possibility of creativity through this peace I offer them. Simplicity and optimism are important points for us as well.

Tone of Voice:My tone of voice is very soft, calm and relaxing. I can be a bit upset in some games, but I very rarely raise my voice, so my streams are very safe to listen to. I steer away from scary games, which allow me to not scream out of fear, yet again, even if I get startled, I'm usually quiet about it.

Symbolism in our design

As explained earlier in the brand section of our website. Our symbolism is deeply rooted in the balance of the good and bad, with an existing grey zone. Think of the yin-yang meaning.Like the Yang. Ryuuma represents the masculinity, the sun, the light, heat and actions. Shinnya represents the Yin, the femininity, the moon, the darkness, the coldness and the receptivity. Yet both forces complement each other. On top of it, we both think that you cannot only be yin or just yang, as too much of that energy would cause imbalance, which is why they created the Obsidian Lotus Clan to act when the world of Hiraeth needs stability without involving the realms' armies to interfere. The name Obsidian Lotus is also a reference to the yin-yang, as lotus usualy mean the purity and the dark colour of the obsidian matches the yin energy, as the yang is represented by the lotus.The koi-dragon theme is deeply rooted in the theme of the culmination of perseverance, strength, and transformation. A koi fish that has successfully swum up a waterfall to the "Dragon Gate" and been rewarded by becoming a powerful dragon. It signifies overcoming immense obstacles, achieving worldly success, and personal rebirth. In the case of Shinnya in real life, streaming was a strong moment in her life where her dark times turned into a rebirth of new strength after 20+ years of struggles.The way Ryuuma interacts with her in her lore also represents how he had done it in real life, supporting her during her hardest moment, believing in her. Dragons are strong and are as well protector.An important point to remember in the meaning of the three realms and the cultist (fans/subs/etc) is that no matter where you are from, you should help each other. Raising my cultists to be the difference in this troubling reality we are with the war around us. My stream is to give a way of peace to my cultists and remind them to spread positivity and help others. To help them find a moment of rest before they tackle a hard time in their lives, etc., often the reality makes us forget such simple things.The theme of Cultivation is often seen in c-drama. It represents the intensive training of the body and inner energy (Qi). The goal is to reach equilibrium of mind and body. In a fantasy setting ( wuxia/ XianXia), it is usually martial excellence, mystical prowess and immortality.
